Our primary goal at Dixie's Doodles is to breed healthy puppies with wonderful temperaments. All of our puppies are whelped and raised in our home, where we have an active environment with grandchildren, dogs, and visitors.
Here at Dixie's Doodles, our puppies are provided with an enriching and nurturing environment. They hear normal house noises, such as conversation, laughter, vacuums, dishwasher, television, music, and more. They walk on as many types of surfaces as we can provide, including grass, concrete, floor tile, laminate, decking, wood mulch, various fabrics, etc. In our dedicated puppy yard they play in tunnels, a wading pool (weather-permitting), climb, run, and play with a wide assortment of toys. They are exposed to our other dogs under supervision. They travel in the car at least twice to the vet. We try to ensure that your puppy has had the best preparation possible for life with a new family and away from mom and littermates.
All of our breeding dogs are health tested for the following:
Hip Dysplasia - At this time we use OFA for hip testing.
Eyes are examined every 12-18 months.
Thyroid tested every 12-18 months
prcd-PRA tested by DNA or cleared by parentage
vWD tested by DNA or cleared by parentage
Elbows reviewed by OFA
Health testing helps, but it does not guarantee that no problems will ever occur. In the event of a debilitating genetic disorder, your puppy is covered by a two-year health warranty that provides for reimbursement of veterinary bills up to the original purchase price of the puppy. It also provides an option for you to obtain another puppy instead of reimbursement if you wish.
In order to adopt a puppy, please first submit my puppy application. Once approved, a $200 non-refundable deposit is required. When we are expecting a litter that should produce puppies that match your application, we will send you an announcement to let you know that puppies are on the way.
Gestation is approximately two months. When the puppies are born, we will send you a birth announcement. If you feel the puppies in the litter and the timing will work for you, you must confirm that you are interested in a puppy from this litter.
Over the next six weeks, we will post new photos each week and keep you updated with the puppies' development. We will also help you prepare for your puppy by bombarding you with information about training, reading materials, feeding, crates, grooming, and everything you will need to know before bringing your furbaby home.
When the puppies are six weeks old, they are examined by our vet, and they receive their first set of shots. We will then hold "Meet the Puppies Week", a nine-day period that includes two weekends. During this time the families may visit. We will discuss the puppies' personalities and temperaments, and together we will decide which puppy fits best for your family.
Puppy selections are done in the order that the deposits were placed. You may not be able to leave knowing which puppy will be yours if the families with earlier deposits have not yet selected their puppies.
Some families cannot visit, and this has never been a problem. The photos have been posted each week, and we can discuss temperaments and coats over the phone.
The puppies may leave for their new homes when they are eight weeks old.

The following agreement is between Dixie Moore, Dixie's Doodles, hereafter referred to as "Breeder" and <name of purchaser(s)>, hereafter referred to as "Purchaser(s)" for the sale and purchase of one Australian Labradoodle dog.
In consideration of a purchase price of $<amount> of which two hundred dollars is a non-refundable deposit, the Breeder transfers in fee simple all rights, privileges and responsibilities associated with the ownership of a <male/female> Australian Labradoodle dog, Avid microchip #<#####>, to Purchaser(s) as of the date specified below. This represents the entire agreement between Breeder and Purchaser(s) in this sale.
Use of the Dog
It is agreed between Breeder and Purchaser(s) that this dog is being acquired as a family companion dog or as a working dog to be used for tasks appropriate to its breed such as therapy dog, service dog, or for exhibition in obedience or agility competition.
We agree that the dog is not purchased for resale nor will it be used or trained for activities which are illegal or for which it is not suited by reason of temperament or conformation.
The Breeder warrants the dog to be in good health and free from parasites as of the time of sale. Further the Breeder warrants that both the sire and dam's hips have been X-Ray'd and evaluated by either The University of Pennsylvania Hip Improvement Program (PennHIP) or the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) in the United States or by the Appropriate Certifying Body in "Country of Origin". Both sire and dam have been found to be free of canine hip dysplasia. The eyes of both sire and dam have been examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist and are free of inherited eye disorders.
In the event of emergence of any genetic disorder during the first two years as diagnosed by two qualified veterinarians, one of whom is selected by the Breeder, the Breeder agrees to one of the following:
Refund veterinary expenses up to 100% of the original purchase price, or at the Purchaser(s)’ option,
Replace the dog with one of equivalent quality from the first litter bred by the Breeder.
Breeder strongly encourages Purchaser(s) to have the dog seen by a veterinarian of Purchaser(s)' choice within 72 hours of receipt of the dog. Said dog may be returned to the Breeder for any reason within the 72 hours following purchase. Provided that the dog has not been damaged in any way the Purchaser(s) will then be entitled to a refund of the original purchase price.
The Breeder certifies that the dog has been registered under the Regulations of the International Australian Labradoodle Association as an Australian Labradoodle and will provide the proper forms for transfer of ownership. The Breeder reserves the right to affix the kennel name "Dixie's" and supply a registry name for the dog.
The Purchaser(s) agree to maintain the dog in a humane environment and properly train and care for it. Specifically the dog will be properly licensed and inoculated against rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and other communicable diseases as recommended by a qualified veterinarian. The dog will not be allowed to roam and will be socialized and obedience-trained appropriately. The Breeder will provide permanent identification by microchip.
